Father of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Ivo Pitanguy, Dies at 93

The field of plastic surgery has lost a legend. Brazilian plastic surgeon Dr. Ivo Pitanguy, 93, passed away just days after carrying the Olympic torch in Rio to light the flame for the opening ceremony of the Games.Dr. Pitanguy was widely considered to be the father of modern day plastic surgery, and sired the Brazilian butt lift. Doctors from all over the world went to Rio to watch him operate, and to train with him.He will be missed by many, but his legacy will live on.Read more at Modern Aesthetics.
