Burglar Dressed in Scrubs Sneaks into Hospital Offices With Stolen Key and ID

June 4, 2015

A brazen burglar sneaked into a closed area of a Long Island hospital, stole a master key and ID card and took cash and valuables from several offices while dressed in hospital scrubs, police said.
Police said the suspect walked into St. Francis Hospital on Port Washington Boulevard in Flower Hill Sunday afternoon and walked to the cardiac imaging area in the basement, which is closed on Sundays.
The suspect took a master key and ID card from the nurse’s station, then entered the staff lounge where he changed into the scrubs, police said. He went on to open several offices with the key, and took an Amazon Kindle and cash.
Hospital staff noticed the items were missing on Tuesday and contacted security, who reviewed the surveillance video and notified police.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
