Allergan Aesthetics Launches HArmonyCa with Lidocaine in Canada

Allergan Aesthetics has received Health Canada authorization for HArmonyCa with Lidocaine, a next‑generation collagen stimulation injectable designed to provide an instant lift and drive collagen renewal. This marks the first approved dual‑action product of its kind in the Canadian aesthetics market.
The injectable combines hyaluronic acid (HA) with calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA), a biostimulatory material known for encouraging the body’s natural collagen production. HArmonyCa is intended for facial soft tissue augmentation through deep dermal and subdermal injection and is supplied as a ready‑to‑use formulation.
The HA component provides an immediate lifting and contouring effect, while CaHA microspheres gradually stimulate collagen renewal over time. Allergan Aesthetics says results may last up to 18 months, depending on patient factors and treatment technique.
The product uses Allergan’s patented DART technology, which the company says allows for controlled placement of both components within the tissue to support structural lift and longer‑term skin quality improvements.
“As we age, loss of collagen can impact skin elasticity and structure,” said Dr. Nathan Rosen, a dermatologist with Dermetics Cosmetic Dermatology, in a statement included with the announcement.
“The availability of a dual‑action injectable in Canada that combines the lifting benefits of hyaluronic acid with collagen‑stimulating calcium hydroxyapatite offers an exciting new approach for patients seeking natural‑looking results, and for practitioners looking to address multiple aesthetic concerns with a single treatment” .
Market demand for collagen‑stimulating treatments
Allergan Aesthetics cited global research showing strong consumer interest in non‑surgical treatments that improve skin quality and firmness. In one survey referenced by the company, nearly all respondents reported concerns about facial aging, with more than one‑third identifying skin quality and loss of tightness as key issues. Two‑thirds of respondents said they would consider a non‑surgical treatment that stimulates collagen production .
Robert Schuller, general manager of Allergan Aesthetics Canada, said the launch reflects the company’s broader strategy to expand treatment options that address both immediate and long‑term aesthetic goals.
“HArmonyCa represents our continued commitment to bringing the latest innovations to practitioners, and meaningful treatments with the best possible outcomes for patients,” Schuller said. “This next‑generation injectable is designed to address some of the common signs of aging with both immediate and longer‑term benefits” .
