Study: Cosmetic Surgery Just As Safe for 80 Year Olds as 40 Year Olds

Cosmetic surgery is as safe in elderly patients, including octogenarians (age ≥80), as it is in young patients, new research suggests.
Although octogenarian patients demonstrated a higher complication rate (2.2 percent) compared with other patients, the difference between groups was statistically insignificant (65-69 years old, 1.8 percent; 70-74 years old, 2 percent; 75-79 years old, 1.8 percent), the study showed.
