Former Miss Universe Canada Contestant Accused of Giving Unlicensed Injections

October 16, 2025

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C. filed a petition in B.C. Supreme Court, accusing a former Miss Universe Canada contestant and her sister of running a series of businesses on social media that advertise body-contouring services with dermal filler in the Lower Mainland, though they are not licensed to perform botox or filler.

In another suit, the sisters are accused of negligence and misleading the client by saying they were trained to perform a procedure where they injected the client’s buttocks with dermal filler. This client reportedly received 2,000 mL of an unapproved filler and suffered leaking from the injection site of filler and fat necrosis. It took over a month for the holes to stop leaking and the client continues to suffer deformities, according to the petition.

Who is licensed to perform botox or filler in Canada?

“According to the B.C. Ministry of Health, botox and dermal filler can be administered by physicians who are regulated by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C., registered nurses who are regulated by the B.C. College of Nurses and Midwives, naturopathic doctors who are regulated by the College of Complementary Health Professionals of B.C. and dentists — for Botox only — who are regulated by the B.C. College of Oral Health Professionals.”
