Update on Illinois Full Practice Authority For NPS

We have been receiving a lot of questions lately on the status of APRN practice authority in Illinois. According to the Executive Director for the IL Society for Advanced Practice Nursing (ISAPN), although the bill passed last year, the rules for APRNs are still being developed by the IDFPR and they are getting close to a 1st public comment period. No one can apply for full practice authority in IL until the rules process is completed.  So right now, all APRNs are still required to have a written collaborative agreement with a physician.
