Some Alabama Dentists Concerned About Possible Changes to Botox Rules

A new rule by the Alabama Board of Dental Examiners could limit areas for Botox and dozens of dentists are upset over potential change.

Dentists in Alabama are currently permitted to administer Botox to patients. However, a new proposal aims to specify the areas where these injections can be made on the face. This has caused dissatisfaction among many dentists, with dozens expressing their opposition at a meeting of the Alabama Board of Dental Examiners Friday.

The Board is receiving public comments on the rule, which was filed last month, until July 5, and a public hearing is scheduled for July 12.
