Vagaro, Inc., in partnership with Talker Research, polled 300 LGBTQIA+ beauty consumers for their experiences and insights about the beauty industry.

Key highlights:

  • Two-thirds of participants say they feel represented in the mainstream hair & beauty industry
  • Among age groups, Gen X reported the highest level of comfortability with their gender expression
  • 26% of participants say LGBTQIA+ representation is an important factor when choosing a business to book a beauty appointment
  • Among age groups, Gen Z was more likely to consider representation in staff an important factor
  • 27% of participants prioritize purchasing products from LGBTQIA+ friendly brands
