Anti-pollution skin care is on the rise, as consumers are demanding beauty products that can help counteract the negative effects that environmental pollution has on the skin. More specifically, heavily urban areas like London and Shanghai are experiencing this drastic increase in desire for anti-pollution skin care.
Anti-pollution skin care aims to protect the skin and reverse the negative effects that pollution has on it by using antioxidants to fight against particle matter. Particle matter is one of the big causes of premature aging. While anti-pollution skin care did become big in the beauty industry in 2016, with 79% of all global skin care products marketed in Q1 2016 having some type of anti-pollution claim, this trend is coming back bigger than ever.
