Colorado Medical Board Updating Rule Regarding Delegation and Supervision of Medical Services
Monday, October 3, 2016
The Colorado Medical Board is in the process of updating Rule 800: REGARDING THE DELEGATION AND SUPERVISION OF MEDICAL SERVICES TO UNLICENSED HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS.
Before revising the regulations the Board is soliciting input from stakeholders that would be effected by any rule changes, and is having a meeting on Thursday, October 6, 2016, 1:30 p.m. at 1560 Broadway, Room 110D, Denver, 80202. The meeting will also be webcast live, and you should register here to take part in the live webinar.
The Rule covers the delegation of medical practice and currently has specific language regarding medical aesthetics which "includes, but is not limited to: (a) the use of a laser, radio-frequency device, intense pulsed light, or other technique that results in the revision, destruction, incision or other structural alteration of human tissue and/or for hair removal; and (b) the performance of injections of Botox, Collagen, Restylane, or any other substance injected for a primarily cosmetic purpose."
